Promoting gender equality requires that we understand gender as a social construct cutting across the multifaceted political, economic and societal spheres.
The chapters in this book demonstrate the importance of gender mainstreaming in examining social issues and making decisions that affect women and men. Eleanor Holroyd
Professor of Asian and Gender Studies and Nursing, Division of Nursing and Midwifery, RMIT. She was formerly an Associate Professor in the Nethersole School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
